FOSTER CARE TEAM SUPERVISOR-CHAMPAIGN
The Center for Youth and Family Solutions Champaign has an opening for a Foster Care Team Supervisor. Responsibilities include overseeing day to day work of family workers and family support workers providing support, information and back-up, while ensuring quality and timely delivery of service. Provide consultation and supervision to staff to facilitate problem solving on service delivery issues. Work collaboratively with biological parents, foster parents and other community resources. Monitor timeliness and quality of necessary paperwork and documentation, and provide technical assistance. Must be able to pass a DCFS background check, have valid driver’s license and insurance, become a licensed child welfare worker, be computer knowledgeable and provide on-call service periodically. Position requires MSW from an accredited school of social work, or an acceptable degree approved by DCFS in a human service field and two years of full time experience in the social work setting. Responsibilities include the capacity to accept supervision within the child care program and to relate constructively to authority, ability to respond to client concerns with empathy, demonstrate responsible behavior and reliability, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, ability to multi-task, strong understating of cultural differences, ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing with diverse populations, and possess basic computer skills. Candidate must be a minimum of 21 years of age, have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, proof of insurance, and three years driving experience. Must be able to pass a DCFS Background Check. Preference given to candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in a social work or other human service field as per current DCFS licensing standards.
